The kinds of assessment you can run
The assessment types a company can run, how to run several at once, how to pause one or mark a run done, how to start the next round of Know Your AI, and how your own copy of a ready-made one stays yours.
A company admin builds and runs assessments. Managers read the results. A company can run more than one at a time. They do not all ask the same thing.
You cannot add an assessment yourself. Adding one is something Velory does for you, so ask your contact. Shaping the questions inside the assessments you have, reading them, sending them, and closing or reopening a round are all yours.
Your questions stay as you sent them. If Velory improves a ready-made assessment, your copy does not change under you. Edit it on the round’s Questions page when you want to.
Your company comes with Know Your AI. It starts off the employee list, so nobody can take it until you send it. If your company has AI rules, set your ground rules on Policy first, then send Round 1 from Rounds. If it has no AI rules at all, you can send it straight away, and it asks about skills only. See setting up your company.

The types you can run
- Know Your AI (the AI literacy check): a short check on safe use of AI tools in each person’s own role. Almost every question is a tap: which of your tools they use and how often, which tasks are part of their job and how each went last week, four questions worded from the person’s own job, up to four everyday situations keyed to your own rules, then whether they could find your AI rules and what their team does with tools you have not approved. At a company with no AI rules, the situations are left out, and the last two ask whether people think you have AI rules and how often their team uses free or personal AI tools. It supports Article 4 of the EU AI Act. If you have AI rules, it needs your ground rules set first. See setting up your company and job titles and roles.
- A survey: questions you write yourself, from scratch, rather than a ready-made start. Its results show on their own Survey results block. See building your own assessment.
Running several at once
Each assessment you add is a separate one, and you can run several side by side. Rounds carries a pill for where the round you are reading stands:
- Live: on the employee list. People can take it.
- Being built: the round is not ready to go out yet.
- Not sent: ready, but no email has gone out. Nobody can see it.
- Paused: off the employee list for now.
- Done: the round is finished.
Closing a round, or reopening one
Note: only a company admin can do this.
Closing a round says it is over. Nothing is deleted: the results stay on Home to read, and nobody new can take the assessment.
Open Rounds. The state pill sits at the top of the page, with the moves available from where the run stands beside it:
- Close now ends a live run. Nobody can take it after that, and the figures stop where they are.
- Reopen starts a closed one again, with the same questions and the same people. If your company has AI rules, Know Your AI needs your ground rules first: if they are not complete, the message here links to Policy. See setting up your company. To run Know Your AI again as a fresh round instead, see below.
Both ask you to confirm first. A reopened round goes back on the employee list with the questions it went out with. They stay read-only.
Reopen is offered on the round you are running now and on no earlier one, so a company is never running two rounds at once. A finished round in the list underneath gives you its report and its questions to read.
A round still being built offers no moves. Send is how that one first reaches people.
Running Know Your AI again: the next round
Note: only a company admin can do this, and only for Know Your AI.
Most companies run Know Your AI on a repeating cycle. You choose how often. Flow holds no schedule and sends no reminder. You start each round yourself.
Do not reopen a finished run to do this. Reopening puts the same questions back in front of the same people and adds their new answers to the old pile, so there is nothing to compare. A round is its own run, with its own results.
- Open Rounds. The round that just finished carries a Done pill.
- Press Start Round 2. The number counts up on its own, so there is nothing to name.
- Flow opens Questions on the new round, ready to send.
- Read the questions, then press Send. See sending an assessment.
The new round starts with the questions you sent last round, the same people, and the same approved policy. A round that ran on the earlier version of Know Your AI is followed by a round of the current version: your own questions, wording and name carry across. Every level in it is earned again: the new round is scored only on what people answer this time.
One thing does carry across: the write-up names the level somebody had last round next to the one they have now. Last round’s level sets no floor and no ceiling: a returning L3 can land at L2.
The new round goes on the employee list as soon as you start it, so somebody can open it from their own list before your email arrives.
Pressing Start the next round twice does nothing the second time. Flow tells you a round already follows this one.
Reading the round before
Home always shows the round you are running now. Once you start a new one, the last round’s results move to their own page, and Home carries a link to it: Last round, with the name you gave it. Nothing is deleted.
Each round’s page names the round before it and the round after it, so you can walk back through every round you have run.
From the second round on, the results also compare the two: last round’s level distribution, how many people moved up, and how many are new this round. See reading your company results.
When Flow will not start a round
- The run is not finished. Mark it done first.
- Your company has AI rules, but its ground rules are not complete. Finish them on Policy. See setting up your company.
- Velory is holding the assessment. Ask your contact.
Your copy stays yours
When you add a ready-made assessment, you get your own copy of it. When you edit your copy, only yours changes. Nobody else’s assessment moves. Your wording stays as you left it.
Good to know
- To send a live assessment to the people it is for, see sending an assessment.
- Someone part-way through an assessment cannot finish it once you pause it or mark the run done. Their answers so far are saved, and they can carry on if you resume or reopen it.
- You can only mark a run done once people could have taken it: anything that has been sent, plus Know Your AI, which comes with your company. One you are still building has had no run to finish.
